Hitachino make two white beers - their White Ale and Weizen. They use different yeast. As far as I know, the White Ale uses their standard ale yeast - the flavours come from the spices used rather than the yeast.
I have a clone of the White Ale on my website - I made it at Kiuchi (Hitachino)...

And the beauty of Freshops is that you can pick a bit of everything with no mininum - even 2 or 4oz - so you have have a bit of everything. A bit convoluted to order from them since you have to email them though.

Oh, and if you get a chance, try their Japanese Classic Ale and XH - they are both awesome. The JCA isn't actually on general release in Japan - only a few places have it. It's one of their best beers.
XH is another spiced beer but with 8% alcohol.
