    Help!

RDWHAHBKMA The last three for "kick mom's ass." Actually moving around doesn't matter much. I don't use a secondary yet, so for my first batch I let in sit in the primary for 4 weeks. After 2, i swirled it around to get things going again, then let it sit for 2 more. Acts a bit as a...

After 5 weeks in secondary, still bubbling... bottle or no?

Remember, ALWAYS better to wait and be sure, and waiting generally only IMPROVES the final product!

Just opened my first beer from my first batch

I think that is gonna be the hard part, knowing how much work it takes and only getting 50 beers. Gonna be hard to justify drinking more than 2 or 3 in any setting so the batch lasts longer! Guess that is why we have to keep brewing! :)

After 5 weeks in secondary, still bubbling... bottle or no?

Wow, still bubbling after 5 weeks. With the High gravity, did you make a starter or use enuf yeast??? With a gravity THAT high, i would probably use 3 dry packs of yeasts, or 2 vials liquid if no starter was made. That being said, it is still fermenting, so no, you can't bottle. Take a...

Just opened my first beer from my first batch

Honey Brown Ale. Been in the bottles only 12 days but i just HAD to try one. If you can remember, I was a bit worried after tasting the wort and post fermentation, where I let it sit in the fermenter for 4 weeks (don't use a secondary....yet!) So I chilled her down, and poured into a nice...

    First Brewday problem!

Just get it as hot as you can and go from there (do u have any other choice?) For the future, SERIOUSLY think about getting a propane burner.

    dead bee in primary

If the bee actually jumped in the wort and was boiled for a while, i really doubt it would have any effect. Like death said, you just made a honey brown ale is all! :-)

Do u have to make a starter if u use liquid yeast??

Was going to brew up a russian stout for my next batch (I think), so it will be a high starting gravity. So what might potentially happen if i brew a high gravity beer and DO NOT use a starter?? Might not have complete fermentation??? Thanks for all the help....

Do u have to make a starter if u use liquid yeast??

I was wondering this. I have always used dry yeast or the smack pack from NB. Was thinking about going with the best liquid yeast I can for my next batch. So can you just pour liquid yeast right into the wort or do u have to make a starter with it first?? Just curious.... Thanks!

    Aeration of the fermenter

I use a whip stir aerator, cost about 10 bucks but it is essentially a long attachment that goes on your drill.

    AHB, kits too expensive???

People like me, U.S. American's always like deals on shipping! :-) That being said, my last kit was a honey brown ale from NB, will know how that turned out in another week.

    AHB, kits too expensive???

Looking at getting another ingredient kit for my next batch. I have noticed AHB is on the VERY high scale of the price range for kits against MANY other online companies. ALSO, they always make you buy seperate yeast at a pretty expensive upgrade cost. They also charge extra to include ice...
