It has come time to sell my "Beer Machine" and begin Rev. B
I designed and built this (semi) Automated Brewing System during my mechanical engineering degree and have come to terms that I must move on to the next project. This machine has offered me many hours of entertainment designing...
All made in my garage. But it wouldnt be a problem making another one tho. Let me cruncch some numbers and I'll let you know what it would cost to do again.
Id use 1/8" instead of 3/32" next time. Man that stuff was a pain to bend. Thing worked great tho with the adjustable screw stops. I...
Sorry to be the barer of bad news but OSCSYS closed down. Unless you have been in recent contact with them, I'd look into where your package was delivered to. Check out they're homepage.
It doesn't sound like the sensors that are bad. If the value changes from the sensor when you blow into it, they work. It sounds more like its the program not excepting the sensor input.
Read up on how to configure the volume measurements on the oscsys website. You will need to add a gallon, and set 1 gal to the sensor value. My sensor values were around 40 at the minimum and went up from there linearlyish. Just add another gallon to the kettle until you record all the values in...
Persionally designed and built an automated beer brewing machine during my Mechanical Engineering program at Northern Illinois University. I have since changed the majority of the electrical system to use a Brewtroller connected via WiFi.
Sounds like the vodka would be the best bet. I'd rather have residual vodka than antifreeze. Even if it's NSF safe. The taste can't be good... I'll have to see where a few liters of bottom shelf will get me. Thanks for the idea.
As far as the system goes, here's a few picks to get an idea...

Did you know that water freezes in the winter?! Apparently that minor detail slipped past me this winter when i left water in my system and it froze, breaking/splitting some copper pipes.
I am still working out the kinks in my automated system (valves, pumps...
@T_Baggins it wasn't so much the discoloring i was concerned about but the "sugaring" like your 3rd picture. My boss (my welding teacher) at my old machine shop called it pickling.

This is perfect. Nice job man. I do have a question tho,
I flipped my keggle and filled it with helium at 10cfm or so when I welded my fitting to the bottom/side but I still got oxidation/pickleing on the inside.
Does helium not act as a shielding gas? I thought that it was working well by...
