That's an infection. It's Lacto, believe me I've had it and I KNOW what it looks like !!!

10 gallon or 5 gallon Mash tun? and type of braid?

Ok, Lets start from the beginning. Your 15 Gal keg is ample for a 5 or 10 gal batch. You have to remember that this is your brew pot. So naturally 12 or 13 gal of beautiful wort will fit nicely in there. If you get up to 13 gal of wort, I'd be vigilant at the hot break to avoid a boil over but...

    Human Airlock

OK, so I over carbonated an IPA. I Literally had to siphon off co2 for a minute by opening the cap slightly to release the pressure. I was finally able to pour the beer !! So I took several drafts to get a good taste of course, and lo and behold I started belching!! Big, robust one's !! And I...

Tettnang is a tea right? If it is then what we're seeing could be the oils from the tea? Doesn't look like an infection to me.

I've found that some yeast strains go like gangbusters early on then end pretty quickly like wyeast's 1058, others take their sweet time. I have a Belgian Saison that's been around for 5 weeks. I moved it to a warmer room and it reactivated the yeast. It's bubbling like it's only a week old ...

    Rubber Stopper Flavor

I think you might be correct !! It got up past 70 deg. and stayed there for a couple days in the bedroom where I do my fermenting. I've had it in the keg for about a week now and the flavor is dissipating a little bit. Thanks for the responses:mug:

    Rubber Stopper Flavor

I want to start by saying that I really don't think I have an infection. I've been on that thread for several months. I got a lacto infection that lasted about 5 batches before I just, plain got rid of everything and started over again. I use only glass or plastic (better bottle) for all...

I just got rid of my plastic primary and brewed a batch using a glass carboy for my primary. I had replaced all other transfer and fermenting elements. The first post plastic primary batch is in secondary and no sign of infection. That's after 5 or 6 batches with infections after primary. Go to...

    whirlpool

Thanks Thadius that was exactly what I needed !!

    whirlpool

OK, so I'm getting that whirlpooling has to do with hopstands and getting the trub to form a small "cone" at the vortex of the whirlpool allowing the wort to be siphoned off leaving the trub behind. Is "the whirlpool" a piece of equipment or is it a process performed with the equipment you...

Yes you definitely have an infection. But if you were to go back on this thread, you would notice one predominate theme. Get it into a bottle to continue conditioning. There's a couple of reasons for this and you can explore that yourself, but you've done that so you're good. The next step...
