    Brewing Safety

    Proper lifting. It is just about impossible to lift a kettle of hot wort properly, with the load close to your body. It is a heavy load, and a back or shoulder injury can really impact your quality of life. Lay out your brewing process thoughtfully, and minimise the amount of lifting required.

    Cost of grains (not in bulk)

    I live in Perth, Australia. I pay $5/kg for any malt in the HBS. Not a fantastic deal, but there are no minimum quantities. I tend to bulk buy base malt for $2/kg and get them to put together a kit of the other grains. That works out nicely.
