How many gallons of EdWort's Haus Pale Ale have been made?

4332 + 30 = 4362 Just a small tweak on hops additions and slightly larger grain bill

Show us your sculpture or brew rig

Here's my simple electric rig. I've been very satisfied with the results. I'm not going to miss propane brewing in a Minnesota winter. That's for sure!

Finished electric rig, bye bye propane!

Well I had my first run using my new system. Besides a few pump priming issues, it went off without a hitch. I was especially blown away with how clear the first runnings were! There might be something to this whole mash recirculation thing... And how clear it was coming out of the boil kettle...

how do i operate this PID?

CidahMastah helped me out with this. I was confused as well. Here's a link to his build thread where he describes in detail how to set up your PID. #307 https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f170/electric-burners-any-builders-out-there-228720/index31.html

    Fans instead of heat sinks?

+1 I replaced my fan with this one from Auber. It works great. Barely gets warm when running full blast.

    Re: Help! Installing Element

2.5" is going to be larger than your original hole. If I were in the same situation, I would buy a 1x1.5 bushing, a stainless washer (to go over 1.5" threads), matching silcone oring and a 1.5 stainless lock nut.

    Butane burner

Sorry, can't help with the butane. Have you considered going electric?

    sous vide

Reading through this thread peaked my curiosity. Just to experiment, I grabbed two rib steaks out of the freezer. Bought them on sale a long time ago. I didn't have a vacuum sealer, so I just used zip lock bags. I threw them in late Saturday morning, set the temp to 131, pulled them out around...

The Trotsky Ale House Build Finished!

Awesome. I'm not only envious of your brew space, but also your amount of free time. I'm lucky if I can brew once a month. I suppose two kids under 4 is a good enough excuse. Congrats again!

    Auber Contactors

Just curious, did you wire your SSR BEFORE your contactor? Feed---SSR---Contactor---Outlet?

Green with envy. That is awesome! Congratulations! What was the inaugural brew?

    What is this white stuff?

Well it definitely looks ugly, but it doesn't bother me unless it affects the beer.

    What is this white stuff?

I'm new to electric brewing. Just had a wet test run over the weekend. My element already has a thick layer of something white stuck to it. I'm sure this is normal, but what is it?
