    Lazy-gyle brewing

I have been using a similar technique for a while now (although I don't get to brew very often). I do a base mash and while sparging, I collect 25% in one BK and raise the temp to approx. 150-deg. and steep my specialty grains while sparging the next 50% to my second BK. Then I bring BK2 to a...

    pony keg

Well, so much for finding pony kegs. When I was younger they were everywhere. I am broadening my search to include the newer, taller slim 1/4 barrel sanke kegs. I have found them new for around $150.00. But I don't want to spend that much on an experiment. Does anyone know of a source for...

decision on commercial upright 2 glass door fridge for kegerator

The sides are insulated panels. All of the refrigeration is above and below the cooler box. The only drawback may be that the fan runs all the time to circulate the air inside. Mine lives in the garage so I don't hear it. That might be a concern for others.

    CFC ?

I brewed the first batch using my CFC yesterday. 5-gal. to 68-deg. and 5-gal. to 67-deg.. I circulated for about 5-min. to sanitize prior to transfer. I whirlpooled with a sanitized paint stirrer after flame out which worked really well. I used approx. 11-gal. of ground water per batch to...

    CFC ?

That was a concern of mine as well. The flow is low so very low pressure. They stayed right in place, not even a drip. I had seen this basic design in another thread but I bought a bunch of stainless clamps just in case.

    CFC ?

Well, its finally done and I took it for a test drive. I ran 12+gal. of boiling water through it. It took less than 15 min. and my water at the outlet was 69-deg. I ran about 13-gal. of ground water through it. After a 10-min. whirlpool step, the wort temp should be near or below 200-deg. so...

    Cleaning my flux

Thanks for the reply. I'm headed out there this morning to clean it and take it for a test drive.

    Cleaning my flux

Hi y'all, just finished my cf chiller. It is 35', 1/2" inside 3/4" cu. tubing. I capped the water outlet and put water pressure on it to test my solder joints and all looks good. I plan to heat PBW and hot water to flush the 1/2" interior lines to get rid of residual flux and who-knows-what...

Inkbird Amazon Lightning Deal for ITH-10 Digital Thermometer and Hygrometer -- $8.79

I tried twice this morning, same thing. Could it be because I had 2 in my cart? I didn't try buying them singularly.

Same issue. (probably me and my incredible web skills) "The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase."

decision on commercial upright 2 glass door fridge for kegerator

I got a good deal on this one. It lives in our garage. We have a big family and the extra fridge space comes in handy a lot. My alternative would have been a beer fridge and a second household fridge. It works great for us. I just need to keep more kegs in it.
