After 3 months of tireless workouts...

Almost two years to the date of when I decided to live a healthier lifestyle, I've kept the weight off, and stuck with the healthier eating and daily exercise/lifting. I still don't have the belly fat loss I'd hoped for, but there is a slow progress there. I get bored with the same daily meal...

Baldness and it's effect on humanity

I still have memories of seeing my dad's hairline go away when he was in his late 20s/early 30s. Having never really "liked" my hair as it was, I kept it short and sweet as soon as I was out from under the control of parents (college). Wore a flat top mostly, until I got tired of spending beer...

After 3 months of tireless workouts...

Thanks for posting all of this. As I "noveled" in a similar thread a few days ago, I started @ 250 in July, down to 178 now. Four months of simple exercise and limited calories/healthy eating. Middle of November I began strength training and more cardio. Still have some fat to burn and muscles...

    Balancing fitness with beer drinking?

I've actually been considered a heavy bag lately (especially for those days when the ex sets me off), just never pulled the trigger. Don't have a lot of floor space so I'd have to hang it (and hang it correctly) and that's slowed me down. Someone mentioned "something Explode" at the gym the...

    Balancing fitness with beer drinking?

Just found this thread, hits home, so I'll add my story, and try to keep it short (but probably won't). 37 years old, always big, never exercise, low metabolism as long as I can recall, 40 hour per week keyboard pounder. Smallest pants I can recall wearing (back in high school) was a 36...

What is the best way to drill a hole in a tower?

I went the smaller hole - then dremel route myself. And cover the whole tower with masking tape, so when you start manhandling it you don't mess up the finish.

    Beer transport by motorcycle: Suggestions?

Great thread - I'm currently thinking about taking a 3 gallon corny about 1000 miles away. I've got the corny, picnic tap, paintball CO2 adapter, etc. The most of my concern has been with the temps over the day and a half on the road.

Which Temp Controller (Johnson Digital or Brewer's Edge Digital)

Been running the JC A419 for over a year now. Flawless operation and yes, it comes ready to "plug and play" with the plug for the wall and the female plug for the appliance.

    CO2 - trade or fill....

Going with a ready to use kegerator, mine came with the tank. It's my understanding that you can buy a tank or pay some type of deposit if you don't have a tank to turn in. That being the case, I'd definitely consider a 20# tank. I was looking at upgrading to the larger tank myself when I...

    Cost to fill co2 tank.

I swapped mine (posted in another thread last night) with Airgas thru a local welding supply shop. Turned in a drab brown tank with permanent marker writing all over it, along with $12, and got a shiny new tank in it's place :)

    CO2 - trade or fill....

....that's always been my dilemma. And my only real option has been to trade the tank in for another. When I got the kegerator (new) I couldn't stand the idea of trading that nice shiny tank for a painted up tank, but I did. Then I lucked into another shiny tank (full) and have been using it...

I got shut down - no more outdoor brewing

I think the definition of "open flame" needs to be clearly defined. In my town, open burning is not allowed. In my case, that applies to an open pile of debris (limbs, leaves, construction debris, etc), burning anything in a drum (55 gallon barrel) and such. Burning wood/sticks in a fire pit...

    So my brother just said...

If your brother hates ramen noodles, tell him he's right, and that'll be one less mooch you have hanging around taking up space and eating your snacks when your brew is ready :mug: Of course if he likes ramen noodles, tell him it tastes a lot worse.

I'm this close to giving up. Seriously.

I'm not sure how I found it, but I read thru just about every post in here. First, and probably most importantly, I will say I admire your determination. When my exwife (yeah, that makes any advice I offer worthless ;)) said she wanted a divorce, I only thought I was determined to explore every...

    Knob Creek is the DEVIL...

Most good stuff has already been mentioned but I will add my opinion just for the sake of post count ;) Good - reasonable price, easy to find - Woodford Reserve. Better - - not easy (for me) to find unless I'm in the distillery giftshop - Evan Williams 18yr old. Best - Blantons. I've...
