    Tapcooler Counter Pressure Bottle Filler

I'm going to have to take measurements of the clamp that came with my Tapcooler to see about making an adapter for the new version. That way I can continue to use it as I do now. I'll use either a piece of plastic I have on hand (I have plenty) or aluminum (also plenty on hand) for that. That...

    Tapcooler Counter Pressure Bottle Filler

How do you have it mounted? From what I've seen, there's no mount like with the first version where it will be on the top surface (draining below it) like I have. To make a mount like what I have now would be more complicated. If they want to change how the can locks into position, fine. Just...

    Tapcooler Counter Pressure Bottle Filler

I had to trim the spring on mine to get it to work decently. Not much, just one or two rings. You'll also discover the 'trick' for getting better fills with it. Especially if you go with the can filling version/add-on (you want to seal on foam). Once you dial everything in, though, it does work...

    Tapcooler Counter Pressure Bottle Filler

I'm using the version for filling cans. Since I go direct from fermenter, the QD connection is no issue. I fill a keg (2.5 or 3 gallon) and can the rest. I have it setup on a rolling mesh cart right next to the Cannular Pro. I did make my own base for the canning setup since the base they...

QuickConnects or Camlocks for hot side?

https://www.homebrewtalk.com/threads/pump-manifold-setup.695136/ I changed the cross on the wort pump for a pair of T fittings. Same flow control, I just like it better (right now). Since I still have the cross fitting, I could always change back later.

    Windows 11

Failure at <2 months is BS. Not even dying, just poor hardware or faulty firmware on the ones being sent out. I wouldn't mind so much if it was a couple of years after purchase. But at so soon from purchase (supposed to have a warranty on the item) it tells me they really don't care. I stopped...

    Windows 11

I might end up waiting for 10Gb ports to come 'standard' for this. Of course, it all depends on other things. like what my service speed is. Right now I'm fighting motorola due to their crap modem (MB86111) rebooting every 1-4 days (for well over a month). Swapped to a netgear CM1200 (from a...

QuickConnects or Camlocks for hot side?

That's why I built the manifold setup on my pumps. Now I don't have to worry about changing any connections from start to finish (wort in the fermenter). It's a bit of a monster, but it works. Also went with all TC barb fittings since I was already using the TC connections. No disconnects means...

    Windows 11

@Nagorg I've seen routers listing at least 2.5Gb and some with 2.5/5.0 Gb WAN ports. Not many, but some. Same with the modems. It did seem odd that they're not using 10Gb speeds. Maybe it's a lower power version. I usually look to 'future proof' items when possible. Since I'm on the 800Mbps...

    Windows 11

@passedpawn @day_trippr Using the Linksys AX6000 for my router/WAP (wifi 6, but my personal laptop isn't). Has more than enough coverage for where I'm living now. Who knows when I move but I can always add the mesh items at that point. I'll be looking at getting a router with at least a 2.5Gb...

    Windows 11

Tilt provides the entire contents for the microSD card for the Pi, so who knows. No GUI on it since I went with the 'no display' version. At the time I didn't have a convenient place for a display. Nor did I want to try and get one that was not huge. Why should I get a mesh item JUST for ONE...

    1/2 BBL Conical Fermenter Volumes

@Boobajoob I have two CF10 fermenters now and the coil can get in the way at times. Plus it takes up space. I'm also looking to see how the jacket model differs in either temperature control/maintaining or reducing temperatures for yeast harvest and carbonating. Spike tells you to change the...

    Wine/Barrel Thief?

So pumping it in and out of your beer?? Sounds both dirty (not as in actual dirt) and a potential oxidization risk to me. ;) IMO/IME, you want as little movement as possible when pulling samples with a thief type item.

    Windows 11

I only have a single RPi device here. I tried one years back, but gave up on it. The current one is ONLY running Tilt Pi to pair up with the Tilt Pro units I'm using. I can't see doing anything more with them until they address the wireless hardware shortfalls. It cannot connect from the...

    1/2 BBL Conical Fermenter Volumes

With the conicals you can control how much krausen you get by fermenting with even a small amount of pressure (as little as 5psi IME). For the conical dimensions, I looked at the Spike drawings file I have. The CF10 and CF15 are the same diameter. CF15 is just taller in the body to add more...
