    Single tier banjo burner setup

Am I missing something? I've been researching how to plumb my single tier build for a while now. I am using BG14 burners with the 0-30 psi high pressure regulator. All of the flexible gas pipe some of you are using in this thread are rated for extremely low pressures. Some of them are rated...

    Star San troubles?

According to a 5 star rep that spoke at one of our brew club meetings, if the star san turns milky white immediately it means you have hard water and in that case you should use RO water for best results. However, my star san turns milky immediately and I still use it with no problems but I...

Unfiltered Apple Juice-Will it eventually clear?

I used an unfiltered juice for one of my ciders and I used sparkolloid powder when I transferred to secondary and it came out crystal clear like it had been filtered. Sparkolloid works very well for clearing hazy beers.

Starting to think this homebrew hobby is a bad habit.

How about calling it "Alimony Ale"

It's blackberry season here in Oregon

I would go with a good blackberry mead. Mostly because I don't like beer brewed with fruit or berries. I've heard that blackberry meads are awesome though. I have yet to try one.

Racking to keg...found bug stuck to side of bucket

Have you ever seen the movie "The Fly"? I'm picturing that's what will happen after drinking this beer. :cross:

    fermentation stopped

You may still be getting some CO2 through the crack which would explain why it's not bubbling through the airlock. However, I would bet that the fermentation is either finished or just slowing down. I've had some really good beers that stopped bubbling less than 48 hours into the fermentation...

    What size mash tun?

I use a 10 gal. igloo drink cooler and it usually only gets filled to about halfway with my mash for a 5 gallon batch. I think you can brew a large variety of beers using a 5 gal. mash tun but you might have trouble brewing bigger beers with larger grain bills, but don't quote me on that. Home...

Worst Commercial Beer You've Ever Had?

Boston beer company. I called it Boston brewing company by mistake. Pretty much Anything with the Sam Adams name is wretched skunk piss to my taste buds.

Worst Commercial Beer You've Ever Had?

Anything brewed by the Boston Brewing Company is undrinkable to me. I can't even choke it down.

How long to wait to use Wyeast?

Don't worry about me bro, I've done plenty of reading on yeast. I don't take everything I read as the gospel and I like to make my own conclusions based on my own personal experience. If you actually read my posts and took half a second to understand what I was saying before you comment, you...

How long to wait to use Wyeast?

Dude relax, have a beer and let it go. You are way too sensitive and taking my posts about beer way too personally. I'll post my opinions and you can post yours and we'll all live happily ever after.

How long to wait to use Wyeast?

I didn't imply anything, I was just asking if that was your suggestion if you didn't think it would be good beer. I think we both agree that Happypanties shouldn't worry and that it is very possible and highly likely that he will have a good beer that he will enjoy, starter or no starter.

How long to wait to use Wyeast?

So you're saying that it's impossible to make "good" beer without making a starter? I would very strongly disagree with that notion as I have made wonderful beers without starters that I would be proud to give to even the most conceited beer snob on this forum. I'm not saying that yeast...

How long to wait to use Wyeast?

Yep I think you'll be just fine. IMO unless you were a seasoned beer taster with years and years of experience, you probably won't be able to tell the difference between a beer fermented with a starter and one without. A fresh and healthy Wyeast pack will make great beer without a starter...
