    Man, I love Apfelwein

Started this batch in the first week of Feb, and its still bubbling. It's kept at about 70 degrees and I've been swiling it up good about once a week. Maybe it's the fact that I used real cider to start with. I haven't checked the FG, but if it's at 1.000 and I'm still bubbling, will I risk...

592+5=597 Quick! Somebody make a 403 gallon batch so we can have 1000!

    Man, I love Apfelwein

I brewed another batch of this stuff (first batch was a 1gal. test), but this time I started with actual organic cider. I was hoping for it to be ready for St. Patty's day. I didn't put an actual date on it, but I'm guessing I started this batch at least 5 weeks ago, and the bastard is still...

    The Oil Change

Damn, my regular oil change cost $22 for my Olds, and that was with a coupon. You don't want to know what the dealership charges for a synthetic oil change. If you do want to know, its about $75. I usually do my own cars, but when its 10 degrees outside I either bring the car to the shop, or...

    RATM reunites!

I think a lot of this is just here-say (sp?). Audioslave has broken up, and RATM is playing Coachella, but thats really all thats been officially said. I love Rage, and love high energy concerts, but never got to see them. I don't want to get my hopes up, so I'm just sticking with the facts...

    Top 5 obscure albums

I'm lazy and don't want to look at all 12 pages, but if anyone else listed these bands, well, you're :rockin: in my book. -Gogol Bordello-Gypsy Punks -Streetlight Manifesto-Everything Went Numb -Bedouin Soundclash-Sounding a Mosaic -Bad Manners-Rare and Fatty (I like their...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

Any ideas how to add a sour kick to this stuff? I was thinking lemon juice, but I figured it would either kill the yeast with it's acidity or just ferment out leaving no taste. If I did sour it up I'd want to carb it naturally, and therefore would need the yeast to be alive.

    No Bubbling

A good homebrew shop will be able to help you. Heres a site thats got a large list of homebrew shops with links: http://www.ratebeer.com/ShowHomebrewShops.asp If all else fails bust out the yellow pages and look under beer and winemaking supplies.

    No Bubbling

I just had a problem where I wasn't getting any action in the airlock. Just like you I assumed that my yeast was dead, but when I looked inside there was foam on the top of the wort and it smelled like beer. It ended up being a bad seal around the airlock and he air was escaping. I lubed up...

I'm guessing each brand will have a slightly different taste, probably not enough to go out and search for that special brand. I used Stop & Shop brand, and although I haven't even bottled it, it tastes great. I'm guessing you're good as long as it's 100% juice.

What is your Favorite Bottle Opener?

I usually use one off of a leathermen-type multi-tool, but it was lost for awhile, so I went looking for one when I went to get some gas. All they had was a two-pack. I thought to myself, "who needs two bottle openers". Then a week later I figured out who needs two when I lost the first one...

    Homebrew Muscle

I have what I consider a modern day musclecar, a 2000 Camaro SS. I'd have loved to bought an old muscle car to learn about cars as I worked on it, but with school it's just not reasonable. She's got decent power though, gets almost 20 city, and is reliable. Maybe in a few years I'll do a...
