...and yet you have a Packers avatar - everyone knows this is Steeler country. My grandfather lives in Hubbard. Small world. Anyway, I think I will try for a Hefeweizen as you suggest. Sounds pretty quick & easy. :mug:

Receipe says to prime with 1 cup DME. Some research suggests that I can prime with my corn sugar, use 3/4 cup. What do you think. How much water do I mix with the corn sugar? I'm thinking it goes like this: 1 cup water and 1 cup IPA bring to boil, add sugar. How does that sound?

    snow fell in...

thanks all. It was a small amount, probably around 115 degrees when it fell in. I won't worry about it. But in the future, I'll try another method for the chill. Thanks and I look forward to learning more and participating in this forum. Best wishes!

    snow fell in...

So I just made my 2nd batch ever last night. All grain. 5 gallons. I placed the brew kettle out in the snow to chill, kept packing snow around the pot. A little bit of snow ended up falling in the pot - is that enough bacteria to ruin my brew? Thanks, learning lots here!
