I have heard of fermenter explosions before, what is the cause of this. It happened to my bro but he said that he thinks the carboy was cracked. But if everything is fine and you follow your recipe is this a normal thing.
Yeah I am no pro but yeah it does sound like if you waited two days you must have already fermented out all your primming sugar. Priming sugar is to create carbonation. So after primming you want to get the beer in bottles right away. Then you need to wait a few weeks you can not start...
I had a similar problem with my first batch, I am not sure if you wet the yeast before you pitched them but that usually helps.( 3/4 cup of water at 72f in sanitized container and put your dry yeast in that mixing it around until it foams up sit for 15 min) I would not recomend pitching yeast...
Beer is not fricken cancer research if you get some vodka, or piss or anything else in you beer from your airlock usually nothing will happen there are exceptions in everything but don't worry my friend.
Maybe its because I am new or maybe its because I just don't care but I try not to worry about every little scientific detail. I rarely even take an OG reading just because it seems to me like it is more of a pain in the ass, I am not selling my beer for commercial. I just let the yeast do...
Yeah you produce more CO2 breathing then you will brewing. You are totally fine, now if your kid drops dead don't come after me but I am 100 confident that there will not be a problem.
Yeah I learned the same lesson, the first batch I ever did about a year ago, I made an Brittish Cream ale kind of like bodingtons.
The air lock stopped bubbling after like 6 hours although the room temp was at like 60 degrees. I was sure I screwed that batch up for sure but kept with it...
Yeah a little less then I wanted to do but time and money has really gotton in the way this year, been through three different jobs and am currently unemployed have not exactly had the money for ingredients and equipment. But once I get back on my feet I plan to do a lot more brewing this year.
Thanks a lot guys, yeah that helps, There is a store nearby called adventures in home brewing but there stuff tends to run a little on the pricey side so I will try to get the stuff at walmart and home depot and construct it myself. I am probably gonna by the propaine burner at the brew store...
Ok yeah thats what I was told but what all do I need to do it so far I have two carboys 6.5 gallons, funnel, filter, auto syphon a regular five gallon brew put, bottling bucket, so on so fourth for extract but what else to I need for all grain.
Not to sound negative but that really does not make that much sense to me, Where can I go to get good information on how to do my first all grain. I am used to doing extract brewing so really do not know anything about all grain.
Yeah there is nothing wrong with that everyone develops there own technique. This is all about trial and error. you do some things by accident and they end up making your beer better or worse. The time you put your hops in really effect your HBU hops bittering units. If you put it in too...
Hey everyone, I am glad I found this forum. I got into brewing about a year ago. I have only done six batches so far but really enjoy it and hope to learn as much as I can from this site
