I have only ever made beer except for one attempt at cider using an extract which tasted bloody aweful. (week flavour). Might give this a try. How necessary is the transferring into clean carboy? And can you then bottle and carbonate same as beer?
Having only ever brewed with extracts and used brewing sugar, started using malt lately with good results, accept the stuff keeps clumping up when added to wort! I have to get out a kitchen whizz and whip it up! Froths up all over the place which I have heard is good for oxygen.
Is this basically an apple cider? I made one from a kit and it was terrible. Can you use any apple juice? I am not really a cider man but the missus likes it
