I have been wondering the same thing. I used to underlet before I started BIABing. Only way I could do it would be putting the grains in the bag dry and slowly lowering into strike water. Anyone done it that way?

I'm looking for a tried and true dark lager Boch recipe for my first lager. I only brew all grain, thats just how I got started. I have ferm temp control and usually do 3 1/2 or 5 1/2 gallon batches. I just don't want to waste months on a bad recipe. Have a favorite to share? TIA

Can a blow off tube for a carboy fit in a one piece air lock? I don't have one to check it out. I've seen pictures of plastic fermentors with a 1" ID hose but wasn't sure how they were connected. I used 3/8" hose last time on a big beer and was worried it was going to stop up.
