I was thinking the same. I pitched the yeast at 25 which i thought was fine but figured i just got an old kit wasnt due to expire for a bit but i had it for a few months. Ive only ever dealt with coopers kits what type of yeast and how much can i use in place of the supplied coopers yeast ?
Wouldnt a gravity reading of 1.039 be a high final gravity ? Thats the only thing im worried about. I always check for the gravity to stablize before bottling.
Currently brewing a Coopers real ale kit, used a box of beh2 and added an addition 200gs of light malt. I attempted to take an OG reading but couldnt track down my test tube so i attempted to do so with the tube the hydrometer came in. No dice got a whack reading of somewhere around 1.190. Now...
Bubbling in the air lock, mainly and i pitched the yeast at 25 but after 5-6 hours i got the temp down to 21 which its been steady at the lsst two days
Brewed my second batch of brew using a coppers kit, pitched my yeast at 25 degrees which i know is a bit high, its been 48 hours since and there still seems to be no fermentation going on. I wouldnt think the yeast would be affected much by this pitching temp. The only other reason i could see...
Thanks for the input, unfortunatly i might not be able to get my hands on ldm but is i can how much would be needed to bump up to around a 5.5% beer. If i cant get any i was thinking about adding 200g dextrose
