    Cutsom lab work for brewers

Also, WhiteLabs offers a full compliment of tests and will do so for homebrewers. I don't know what the costs are but I have talked with the people there and they said they will do things on a homebrew scale. http://www.whitelabs.com/lab-services-and-supplies

    Empty White Labs Vials

Don't have any myself but WhiteLabs themselves does this tap handle in their tasting room. And it is pretty neat, see pic here http://www.whitelabs.com/white-labs-tasting-room

    Integrated Kitchen Brewery/Keezer build

Sweet. Where, roughly, in SD is this. If you don't mind me asking? (North, South, East, West)?

What is growing in my Chinooks

Good call. That is exactly what they look like and feel like in person. :mug:

What is growing in my Chinooks

I was thinking they are mushrooms. I guess I have never seen mushrooms at day 1. If you look closely the top is flat and really thin. It feels like a leaf. That is why I thought it might be some kind of flower or plant instead of a mushroom.

What is growing in my Chinooks

Just noticed these this morning. Not sure what they are. Anyone have any ideas? Should I pull them out? Chinook - a set on Flickr P.S. Sorry for the the crappy iPhone quality pictures

Still have a horribly disappointing problem

Hey I am in your neck of the woods too. I would be interested in learning from some more experienced brewers. I am out of town until July but after that I would be up for a group brew (that is if you don't mind a young whippersnapper hanging out with the old farts ;) ) to the OP, if the group...

    Can U make a 2 gal starter?

+1 I have a RIS going right now. I made a SNPA clone using WLP001 and then pitched my RIS ontop of the cake from the SNPA. All appears to be going swimmingly . :mug:

    where to buy a 4912 ?

Have you seen any one who has converted one of these? Size wise I know it will work. I am wondering about the placement of the refrigerant line? Is it similar to the Sanyo, so that you can drill through the top and run a tower setup like so many have on the Sanyo's.

    Riesling Wheat

Really interesting idea. If you think about the concentrate just like any other fruit addition maybe that would help? If I were going to make a Grape Wheat beer I think I would add the concentrate to secondary like you would with fruit additions. Maybe boil a small amount of concentrate and...

What to pair with an Ostrich Egg?

When I was in High School a friend of mine had a few emu's. I remember opening his fridge one day and flipping out because I thought he was hatching dinosaurs Jurassic Park style. The eggs are green and huge. One egg made a scramble for the whole family and me which was 7 people.

    Sanyo 4912 Discontinued. What Now?

I checked this one out at my BB last night. It does appear to be nearly identical to the 4912. Has anyone actually converted one of these? I am wondering about the refrigerant line placement. I think BB would look at me weird if I walked in with Corn Starch and Rubbing Alcohol and starting...

    Cheers from San Diego

Hi all, I am relatively new as well and I am up in Carlsbad. I would be interested in a brew fest. I have been thinking of checking out one of the north county clubs as well. Do they take kindly young whippersnappers? (I am 26) :)

    Hi from San Diego

Hey nice to meet you. I am relatively new as well and I am in Carlsbad (near La Costa Canyon High School). I used to live in Encinitas by San Dieguito Academy. P.S. just hit your site and it was down just FYI. --Brad

How would you classify this recipe?

There is a local brew here (made by the Pizza Port / Lost Abbey boys) called Black Lie. It is a special brew made for the favored local pub "Liars Club." It is a black IPA. Very strange the first time I had it but it is very much and IPA except it is black. It is an awesome beer.
