I find on mine I need around 30 psi to get good flow and less foam. The first couple pours are a little fommie but after the coils and beer temp equalize the foam subsides.
Concur with Hiphop on this. I brew every Saturday and start my starter around noon on Thursday, leave it on the stirrer until i pitch and have had no isues pitching around noon on Sat. Usually get activiting with in 2 hours of pitching.
Thanks for the info, I’ll try baking it!! The chunks and floaties look like dried wort flakes, so it appears that the flushing isn’t working even though I’m flushing for hours.
I have the 40 plate chiller from kegcowboy and for the life of me can’t get it clean!! I run 160-180 degree water with PBW for 30 minutes normal flow direction, 30 minutes back flush, then rinse with 20 gallons of same temp water then flush with garden hose pressure for 10-15 minutes...
I have a recipe that calls for 2 different strains of yeast both from starters. Can I pitch both in one 5000 ML flask as single starter or is better to have a separate flask for each?
