Does anyone know the ranges for the temps? I just brewed a hefe and want more of the banana to come through. I'm fermenting it at 70, so I hope that will give me the taste I'm looking for.

I use the same 60 qrt cooler for my mlt. I didn't like the 45 angle on the back of it, so I drilled a new hole on the front of the cooler and put a ball valve in it. I used gorilla glue to seal the back drain plug up. I've only used it once so far, but it worked great. I only lost about 2...

So if I remove the braid and let all of the hops run through to the fermenter, will it not effect the finale taste of the brew? It seems much easier, but it seems like it would be a weak form of dry hopping.

My ss braid was completely clogged with pellet hops. It worked flawlessly with my grain/mash tun, but the hops clogged it up in the boil kettle. I was trying to think of a way to filter the hops out of the wort before it got to the braid. Something like a screen that you would set on the bottom...

So the hop strainer you made is just a straight piece of copper with a lot of small holes in it? Any pics? The ss braid worked so good in the mash tun, I thought it would work with hops.
