    Sodastream Alternatives

Adapters to use standard CO2 on a soda stream exist. Price is decent too if I remember. Google around, one company might be Soda Doctor, Soda Stream Doc, or something like that.

    Building a kegerator- fridge ideas????

No mini-fridge will fit a keg. You would be hard pressed to find a mid sized one or anything short of a full sized that would. Most homebrewers make a kreezer. Take a chest freezer & replace the thermostat to get proper temperatures. Google the term or poke around on the DIY beer section.

How can I keep my soda carbonated but not put it in the fridge?

No, it would just go dormant & wait for better temperatures, at least enough would survive to mess up your day.

    Remove that Root Beer funk?

Doesn't ever come out of plastic or rubber.

Brewing inside a keg, with yeast?

Possible, definitely. A corney keg has a pressure relief valve so you couldn't blow it up like with glass bottles. I'd recommend investigating force carbing though, easier and far better control, especially for dispensing. Probably around $150 for the gear for it though.

    Pure cane sugar root beer?

I use a lot of brown sugar for the extra flavor in my rootbeer. Depends on your tastes I guess.

Corny keg in place of a carbonator.

Cornies are rated to 125 I believe, and have a pop-off valve that will blow before the keg as a safety mechanism. Carbonators do run at 100psi to get the warm water carbonated fast. To get soda level carbonation you need 30-35psi in a keg of soda or water at a temp of the low 30's. It can take a...

    Equipment Issue

The old Pepsi fountin I'm going to be canabalizing for my project just had a 1.5 cubic foot tub. The fridge coils went in the tub with a small mixing motor. Fill the tub up with water & each syrup line & the carbonated water line had about 6ish feet of SS tube snaking along the side. As long as...

    BeerGun

Soda is carbed significantly higher than beer (8-10pst vs. 30ish), so using beer bottles for soda is a bad idea. Find a glass Coke bottle & compare the weight to a beer bottle.

    Excessive foam from corney keg

5 gal corney keg, 3 of the mixing sticks from the cure your short hose troubles thread & 4-5' of 3/16" hose with a picnic tap on the end. I've been carbing the root beer in the fridge for a week at 35psi shaking occasionally. When I opened up the keg to see what was going on after my initial...

    Carbonation System

It's a carbonator as KevinM said, basically the guts out of any soda fountain you'll find today. I paid around $150 for a whole used & abused soda fountain that had on.
