New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Totally! - I always make a starter and overbuild to get yeast for next batch or two. I just had no idea what the starting point is for Omega unlike Imperial which states how many cells are in package (approximately). I know I won't be underpitching, but I've always wondered about overpitching...

I found it here HomebrewingResources And looks like i read it wrong, it's actually:

Sure, that's the calculator I use as well, but is this starting amount 150 or 500? :)

For the folks overbuilding starters, what starting cell count do you use for Omega yeasts / Cosmic as a starting point? On their site they say 150m - 500m range depending on strain. Getting first brew day in like 8 months next week and I am giddy.

Awesome info and thanks for the run down! I was actually looking to get a CF5 or CF10 possibly...would you not recommend it?

Hey folks - I know we talk about a lot of recipe stuff but I was just curious what your brewing setups are like? Hot side Biab? Electric? Single vessel or multi? All in ones? Chugger pumps or blichman? Counterflow or plate chillers? Exchilerator? Cold side Fermonsters with mods? Full conical...

Maybe this is a dumb question, but oh well...when discussing dry hop rates in oz/gallon...are we talking about the amount actually in the fermenter at the time of dry hopping? Let’s say I have 5.5 in the fermenter and want to dry hop at 1.5 oz/gallon...should I dry hop with 8.25oz (5.5 * 1.5) or...

I live in Cali, but was able to do a month long road trip across New England with wife and baby a few years back. Visited every bucket list hazy brewery and Bissell Bros was my absolute favorite. Reciprocal blew me away. As did HTFGATT. What I love about their beers is that they are not just...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Trying to nail down a last minute brew session tomorrow...hobbled together something based on recipes I've scoured here for last few months. Want something fruity with a danky side too. Going to try Cosmic Punch with the following hop bill. Would love some feedback! 3oz Cascade @ Mash ~ 11 ibu...

Going to jump on the cosmic punch train here...received order a day late as fedex goofed up to find the pouch fully inflated. I immediately threw it in the fridge, which stopped it from inflating more or popping, but I'm wondering if it is okie to use in an upcoming brew?

Turning your Fermonster into a complete closed transfer system for cheap!

Yeah for sure I only wanted the bulkheads and disconnects as well. I ended up purchasing just the bulkhead and nut assembly from Amazon…have my own floating dip tube and metal diptubes already. Hope it works!

Turning your Fermonster into a complete closed transfer system for cheap!

This doesn’t look like the original one the OP posted. it seems the new models look more like a carbonation cap design.

Looks like morebeer no longer sells the pressure kit, but they sell another one where the posts look significantly bigger ( for fermzilla ). Where have you folks bought the posts? I see Williamsbrewing sells individual posts as does brewhardware. This is what morebeer sells now. Stainless Steel...

Maybe a bit of a dumb question, but here goes anyways. When I see discussions here about hop amounts to use, I'm always confused about what the relative amount is to. For example, I'll see someone post that they used 1oz @10min, etc. This amount would have to change quite a bit if you are...
