Just bottled the rest of a keg of Rum Barrel aged Porter a friend an I brewed last year. We aged it in a small 5 gallon oak barrel that had been used for Rum.
Going to plan out some brews, the pipeline is in rough shape.
I've been reading through this thread (it's awesome). Trying to land on a dry yeast for English Styles as I don't have a homebrew shop near me and buying liquid is expensive and inconvenient.
I really don't like S04, it has a twang to it that I find off-putting.
I see lots of talk about...
Amarillo! How is it these days?
Used to be one of my favorite hops, especially paired with Simcoe but I found it got a bit underwhelming for a few years.
Yeah, you are on to something. I tend to brew a lot of WCIPA, and I think I'm a bit burnt out on the style. I'm actually looking forward to brewing some more Porter/Stout and malty styles.
Yeah , so I undersold it a bit. I've made improvements to my process like , closed transfers, pH and water adjustments. I just meant I'm still brewing on the G30.
I have thought about RO, and may try that.
Unfortunately I live in a small town with now brew club, and only one other homebrew. I belong to a virtual club, but it's difficult to share beer obviously.
This speaks to me. I've decided to focus on lager brewing as they are some of my favorite styles
I'm going to start with Helles and really try and tighten up my process. It will give me a sense of focus which I think will help.
@Basspaleale do you have any resources on LODO? I've looked into it...
I've been toying with doing smaller batches lately, in order to get out of a brewing funk.
I have the V3 G30, did you just copy the equipment profile, and make one for your smaller batch size?
Cheers
