    Fermenting Under Pressure

You're right. I didn't realize from your original post that you were asking specifically with regards to IPAs. I do plan to do an NEIPA with this system soon, just at a low pressure. I will dry hop during primary and then add keg hops to the receiving keg prior to purging and transferring beer...

    Fermenting Under Pressure

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet: I ferment lagers under pressure at room temperature. 68 degrees, 15 psi, and fermentation is done in 1-2 weeks. I ferment in an old sanke keg that I flipped upside down, and cut a hole in the bottom to fit a corny lid. The spear end of the keg mates...

[Seattle] Where do you buy grain?

I just posted this in another thread. I've found that FH Steinbart down in Portland has some pretty darn good deals on sacks of grain. I have family down there, so I pick up a sack or two every time I go to visit.

    Seattle?

I went up to Skagit Valley Malting a month or so ago and asked them if they sell to homebrewers. Unfortunately, they were getting backlash from the shops who caught wind of it. Now they won't even sell partial bags that they can't sell to the shops. On a similar note, I've found that FH...

    Barrel Aging American Barleywine/IIPA

@anotherbeerplease you're right, I did add a lot of late addition hops. This is my first barleywine, and I read that the American versions are supposed to be hoppier and less caramely, so I may have gotten a bit carried away. Also, I like your idea of putting it into the barrel and pulling off 5...

    Barrel Aging American Barleywine/IIPA

I have 10 gallons of what I intended to be an American Barleywine that I have been planning to age in a 15 gallon bourbon barrel (after I brew another 5 gallons to bring it up to volume). I tasted it a few weeks ago, now that primary fermentation is finished, and decided that it's hoppy enough...

    Brewtoad Issues

Sounds like they decided it's too much effort to fix it, so they're just abandoning it.

    Brewtoad Issues

Shoot, that sucks. Guess I'll be switching to something else after all.

    Brewtoad Issues

For those who use Brewtoad, has anyone had issues logging in and using the web app recently? I occasionally will have days where I try to log in and get a "500 internal server error" And then sometimes when I am logged in, if I refresh the page, it redirects me to an outside page that seems...

    Seattle?

Does Skagit sell directly to homebrewers? I would be interested in some Copeland Pils and some Munich, depending on cost. Maybe some Talisman Pale too.

    Seattle?

I would probably be interested in getting some different types of base malts. 2-row Pale, Pilsner, Munich, Maris Otter. I could also be interested in splitting bags of specialty malts, depending on what it is. Not sure which Everett club you're referring to, but a Google search turned up these...

    Seattle?

Reviving an old thread. I'm also interested in a group grain buy. I've had a little bit of interest from some fellow members of the North Seattle Homebrew Club. Hoping this can gain some momentum.
