Anybody figured out how to get it to talk to the ssbrewtech ekettle temp probe?

I’ve also had a lot if weird temperature swings (as stated previously in thread) probably due to using my whirlpool port on ssbrewtech ekettle as my temp port. Do you think if I got a spike basket and used it to recirc constantly during mash that would help my temp problems? And put the probe...

Interesting....so that would make sense, because I almost always use the delay start feature, so I can come home and it’s already heated. I never really stir until I get mashed in. Strange to me though: the position of the blichmann probe, vs the thermapen probe, is only a couple inch difference.

Has anyone else experienced temperature discrepancies with the brew commander? I brew full volume mash biab on a 20 gallon ssbrewtech e-kettle. The included probe from blichmann is installed in the “whirlpool” tri clamp port which is basically at mid height on the front of the kettle. When...

How was this? Just curious, one if my first bottled beers off a keg with a beer gun....and I think it’s been like 9 months of more since bottled....I would not Have thought it was even still carbonated

I typically prefer “beer flavored” beer As well, but it makes for a nice refreshing variant from time to time

I make a cucumber lager every year, it’s awesome. Just brew like normal, after ferment is done, dry hop it w 1-3 cucumbers. I wash, dip in sanitizer, then on a sanitized cutting board I take the skin off and slice it, before adding to fermenter...2 days later keg. I like 1 cucumber so you...

Nahh I spoke w blichmann, their port is not rtd sensor..... really hoping they update to accommodate either in the future.

So does that mean it’s not as accurate as rtd? And is it possible to buy an adapter or is it totally different types that make them incompatible

Yeah I know that’s what blichmann said, but I bought a kettle w tri clamp to get awa y from weldless bulkheads and really don’t want to drill a brand new kettle. I’ll probably end up putting it in the whirlpool port and foregoing the whirlpool, or just dangling the temp probe in the mash

Is anyone using the BC to run an ss brewtech e kettle? It looks like the ss probe is Pt-100 so should work with the BC. I emailed ss and they said it should, do I ordered the BC and ss kettle, but someone told me in another thread they have this setup and the temp does not work... is it maybe...

Really? I emailed them a while back and ss said it should work since they’re both Pt-100....that really sucks since I have both being shipped to me today and I thought they’d work together.

Any updates here? I just purchased the 20 gal ekettle from ss and the brew commander....waiting on mail man now
