    Brewed a double pilsner...yes pilsner. Odells. Its a mess...Added too much to boil so gravity was low. Boiled longer to concentrate it but forgot I should add DME BEFORE boil, not after because of the hops. Now gravity is 1.074 and I want 1.078 and it tastes sweet and with a sharp bitter...

    Then why do people like them so much. Isnt the goal to have a consistent mash temp? I am looking to upgrade to RIMS asap, once I understand what I need. I know the basics, RIMS tube, heating element, some sort of PID system to regulate but there are many choices and opinions and I dont know...

    I'm confused as to how Thermapen can check deeper parts of your mash to make sure it is all the same temperature since the probe is only 6-8". I'm doing 10 gallon batches at the moment. Hoping to upgrade to RIMS soon to get more even mash temps.

    How much strike and sparge water for double ipa all grain

    I have a recipe for a double ipa from Dry Dock brewing in Colorado. Calls for 15# of Golden Promise grain. Doesnt say on recipe how much strike water to use in the mash or the sparge but does say the temp should be 174 and then 152 in the mash. Also doesnt list the OG but I know the beer is...
