    You asked for it!

Awesome! I know that there are many automated systems (both electric, gas, and or steam) that can be much better categorized here! Thanks TX.

The Beer Robot: BCS-462, Single Tier, eHERMS, two pumps

Nice job on the enclosure, looks brand new.

    Temp sensor fluctuation

No, that's just a calculator that we hijacked from another company. We should really get our own. It just solves some equations to spit out the coefficients. kladue, you're not comparing apples to apples with an exposed thermocouple and a thermistor probe, although maybe the reduced thermal...

    Temp sensor fluctuation

Yes, I believe this is a free air measurement so its hard to tell if the fluctuations are real or not. But regardless, I read a maximum of 0.4deg fluctuation reported in the 21 samples, or over a full minute. The ECC sensors sold on our site are spec'ed with an accuracy of 0.2degC, and I...

    Temp sensor fluctuation

Not sure what you're referring to. I think we've ruled out noise sensitivity and wandering readings.

    Temp sensor fluctuation

Yes, the last screen shot looks much better. Varying a few tenths is pretty normal and well within spec of these probes, particularly when they're not submersed. You might have to calibrate them to remove the offset error. Just to answer some of the questions above, I don't believe this is...

    Temp sensor fluctuation

Did you update the temperature probe settings for the Brewers Hardware probes? The BCS ships w/ coefficients that match our probes, the BH probes have their own set. If you try to use settings that don't match the probes you'll get erroneous readings...

Wow, that is some serious grain. Your stocks would make many LHBS's jealous.

    BCS user control panel question

Those relay boards have built in transistor drivers to handle that 70ma relay coils. They only require about 50uA (micro amps) of current from the BCS, so well within budget. Since the +5VDC pin of the BCS can source up to 300ma, you can use that to power the relay board.

    BCS user control panel question

Yes, higher processes take priority. However its not recommended to have two processes drive the same output. Here's a relay that is compatible with the BCS. They also make 12v cards, however that would require a separate power supply...

    Fermentation Temperature controller build

The BCS uses thermistor based probes as well. You could use the probes from Brewers Hardware which also are available with M8 cables. Good luck on your project! http://www.brewershardware.com/4-Temperature-Sensor-for-BCS-460-with-M8-Disconnect-Cable.html

BCS 460 vs Brewtroller - what say you??

Enable Manual Mode in the left hand menu. A green light next to it will appear, and it will bring up the Manual Mode output control table as seen in the screenshot above. Set your RIMS heater to "PID Controlled", enter the desired temp setpoint, and hit apply. Done.

BCS 460 vs Brewtroller - what say you??

kegtoe, sounds like you want to use Manual Mode. Its the most straight forward way to enter parameters into the BCS. Just follow the instructions below, you can type in a temperature setpoint and hit Apply, and that's about all there is to it. This will allow you to do the work of multiple...

1BBL Brutus 10 Electric Brewery Build

Great job on the PID tuning. Can you post your PID coefficients? I'm sure that other BCS users with similar setups would find them beneficial as a starting point for their own systems.
