Well, NHC is over... Any winners here?

If you guys at CHUGSD keep brewing the kind of beer I tasted at club night, it won't be long for those NHC medals to come in. Really enjoyed your beer. Cheers.

    Folding plastic bottle box

I remember a while back coming across a link for a site selling plastic bottle cases. I think they were made from corrugated plastic and were the same size as a standard 24 bottle box you'd get from your LBHS. The nice part is they folded down for good storage, and being plastic they handle...

How do I make this shelf more sturdy?

I had the exact same problem. I bought some steel rod that fit inside the receiving holes and welded up a stronger shelf with angle iron. It is WAY overkill and I think it would probably support my car. A simpler solution would be to buy the steel rod, enough for two of the long lengths of...

Searching to find these buckets locally or cheaper

That price on eBay looks really reasonable to me. I've ones like this from Curtec for years. The one thing I like is the handle option on mine, makes carrying much easier. But honestly for less than $25 shipped the eBay ones look great. You can buy the Curtec ones from General Container, but...

    Welding Single Tier Brew Stand

$450 just for the welding???? Seems way high to me. I see you are in Texas. I don't have any personal experience, but this guy is in Texas and for the price looks hard to beat. $275 for steel, welding, and shipping?? Cha-ching.

Sealing the spigot hole on a plastic fermenter

I still haven't figured out if this a joke thread or not, but we're a month a way from April 1st so what the hell...I'll bite. A tube of silicone sealant as referenced is around $5 or more. A rubber stopper will run you at least a few bucks (but still has to be sanitized and you still run...

    Stainless sink/table brew stand

Do a search on this forum, there's a guy who converts those to brewstands. IIRC, he uses the sink well as the mash tun (although maybe that's what you meant by incorporating the sink in your design). Then you only need two vessels. Pretty slick - I'd say go for it.

Convert Single Faucet Tower to Triple

Given my experience, I wouldn't do a three tap tower again...I think you're on the right track with a box. Check out this thread, it's a beauty.

Convert Single Faucet Tower to Triple

I agree with airmek that three taps in a 3" tower is tight, I can't imagine a 2.5" tower being any easier (if even possible). I had to customize my shank wrench with an angle grinder to make it work. Hours of fiddling, some swearing, and two bloody knuckles later I got it all to work. The...

Looking for ideas for bottle cap catchter on Kegerator

These are kinda fun. I made one out of wood and computer magnets that worked great. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004818E2S/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

    Cracked Erlenmeyer Flask

Just a note of caution for those who boil and chill in Erlenmeyer flasks. You might be well served to do the occasional visual inspection. I just lost mine this weekend. I have a glass top stove where I boil my starters in the flask (recommended on Morebeer website) then I chill in an ice...

    Suitable mini fridge for kegging

There was little extra line that I pushed through. Not a ton, but just enough to make a difference. Room temperature is the way to go. Might even be a good idea to put a heating pad or hot water bottle on the line before bending. The part I found most brittle was not the supply line, but...
