I think that's what it is. There has been no other unidentifiable objects popping up in it. I feel like if it was mild or a fungus, there would be more. Thanks for the input

I unfortunately didn't take any pics. When I got it out, I pulled it apart and it seemed like a small ball of string. Kinda like if you take a piece of string and roll it in between two fingers. It was like it had a center which looked like a balled up piece of string with the ends of strings...

So I'm making a melomel with strawberries and raspberries. It's been fermenting for a few days and I've noticed a black stringy thing floating on top. I pulled it out and it doesn't look like any mold or fungus I've seen. I'm very confused as to what it was. The mead doesn't smell bad or rotten...
