Yes, this person was serving soda which is why he was running at 35 psi. When I said "soda keg" I should have said a "soda keg" for soda.
He was running the narrow diameter line so he did not need to have a super long line.
Someone was talking about the line they run from their soda keg. They said...."I run about 5 feet of braid reinforced 1/8 inch at 35 psi and it comes out great. Similar setup on my carbonator, just a longer line (about 10 feet). You have to dial it in. The 1/8 adds a lot of resistance so if you...
I posted a similar question in the general forum but folks recommended that I post here instead.

I'm interested in building a 2.5 or 3 g. kegerator out of a mini fridge. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good mini fridge for this with limited modification needed to the fridge.
Any ideas, plans, good deals on taps, etc. appreciated.
Thanks, Doug
I would try Sarsaparlla, Wintergreen Root, and Licorice root and use at least 1/2 brown sugar for your sugar. That should give you a nice, complex and similar flavor. Good vanilla is nice in my opinion too.
Is there an easy/quick way to change the connection from my CO2 tank from ball lock to pin lock and pin lock to ball lock? Any pictures appreciated?
I'm considering buying pin lock kegs but want to still use my ball lock connection for my carbonator cap.
Thanks
I have limited height in my fridge. What is the difference in height for a ball lock connected to CO2 tank vs. a pin lock keg connected? I heard the pin lock is a taller connection but I was curious how much.
How long would it take approximately for the pressure to lower a lot in the keg? Would it be more like an hour or a day or more?
Since this occurs, if you're just pouring one or two servings a day, do you just leave the pressure set to 30 PSI and just use really long line? How long is...
I had a question.....
From my understanding, folks serve beer from a keg at 10 PSI with short lines (4 ft).
Why do folks use more pressure (20-30 PSI) for serving soda? I know that soda is carbonated at higher pressure, but why does this impact serving pressure?
Can you serve Soda at...
Do pin locks work as well as ball locks? (I've used ball locks before)
Are pin locks easy to connect and remove?
Are pin locks as secure when connected as ball locks?
Would it really require a lot more CO2 because once the head space is full, wouldn't all the extra CO2 that gets absorbed once the head space is pressurized be the same?
Maybe, however, I'm underestimating how much gas it would take to pressure 1/2 of an empty 5 gallon keg.
If you want to make soda in a 5 gallon keg but only want to make 2.5 gallons, does this turn out OK?
Does it carb up and serve OK?
Does it take faster or slower to carb up 2.5 vs. 5 gallon in a 5 gallon keg?
Thanks, Doug
