No starter but I followed the directions on the yeast. Can I add the nutrient to the carboy? What should I expect it to drop to? The air lock on the carboy is back up so there is still a little action taking place. Maybe it will drop to below a 1.020 still.

I just moved my java stout from primary to my carboy after 1.5 weeks and my FG seems to be a little high. The problem is the recipe I have doesn't say what it should be. My OG was 1.068 and my FG is 1.024 when moving to my secondary. Here is the recipe...

I haven't been on these forums long but I have been reading and learning a lot. I just started my 3rd brew this weekend and got the recipe from this site. Everyone on here seems really nice and I wanted to see if anyone wanted to help me raise money for the national multiple sclerosis society...
Thanks for everyone's help. It definitely was not mold.
I ended up bottling on Saturday and brewed a porter on Sunday. Can't wait to try my first brew. The porter is looking really good too and the airlock is going like crazy. Should be a nice brew with a 1.058 OG.

Sounds good...Either way, I was still going to let it go to see what happens. I will keep you updated for the next couple of days. Looks like this is a great resource with a ton of activity. Will definitely keep poking around here.
