    waxing beer bottle caps?

i think it makes a difference in long term storage, or maybe it just gives me peace of mind.. plus it makes it easier to resist temptation of cracking open something you don't have a lot of.

    Sweet find! Grenade shaped bottles

hey guys, i was perusing the local big lot's store (warehousey discount chain) and found my way in their energy drink selection and spotted bomba energy contained in a glass bottle - the cap that comes on it is not your standard crown but regardless, I tested and they will take standard bottle...

Saving Oak Cubes - How Do?

Nice, I found this thread quite helpful - the cost of cubes at my lhbs is around 5-6 bucks for a smallish bag, so i'd rather get the most for my money and have them on hand than to be forced to buy more if i want to try something woody.

    oregon fruits from grocery store?

Time to revive this thread :D If you plan on using the whole fruit variety that is found at the grocery store, i wouldn't suggest blending to create a puree as you might crush seeds in the blackberries, raspberries and they end up tasting astringent. I just started a 5 gallon batch of wine with...

So i've only made 2 wines involving honey, but I have a gallon of cherry melomel with 3lbs of honey in it that has been sitting in primary for aprox 10 days. From other winemaking I was thinking 2 weeks would be a good time to rack to secondary but decided to research and found some threads...

    First mead(hippocras?), a few questions

thanks guys! it ended up filling up again so i decided to switch to a blowoff tube, and now it's bubbling away at a much faster rate than before i didn't fully boil the honey but just simmered it a bit till it started foaming up, i thought it was a good idea incase of wild yeasts or something -...

    First mead(hippocras?), a few questions

ok, so this is my second batch of anything and i decided to try out a pyment, which ended up if i'm to understand correctly is a hippocras (since lavender is included, that makes it a hippocras right?, if not is it still a pyment?) i'm new to the mead terminology :D here's the recipe i...
