I retired in 2008 and after a few years got bored. I took a second job managing an 80 acre estate in Cambria, CA. While here I met a friend who has a brew shop and handcrafts his own beer. After trying several of his handcrafted beers I got interested in making my own. With his help I got my first 5 gallon home brew kit and am on my 4th batch of beer now. I was researching recipes and came upon this site. What a gold mine of information! I have learned so much from this site that I thought it was about time I quit being a lurker and become a member.
