    Fermenter for 2.5 gallon batches

I bought 3.5 gal buckets from uline with their ez-peel lids and I LOVE them. I originally bought 5 and was going to pass along some of them... but now I'm using all of them because they're so easy to use. They ARE food safe and durable. The lids seal well and are easier to remove than some of...

    experience with this Keg System

I too went through keg connection for most of the pieces, including the taprite regulator. However, being a cheap dude, I opted for used kegs from homebrewing.org and couldn't be happier.

    Minnesota 3.5 gal fermentation buckets

The bucket height is listed at 10.75inches on uline's website. That's about 3 inches/gal, which leaves about 1.5inches between 3gal and the top. I haven't had the opportunity to ferment in these buckets yet - so this is an estimate. It's not a ton of headspace, but especially for secondaries...

    Minnesota 3.5 gal fermentation buckets

I'll snag some pictures tonight, but here's a link to what I ordered: From: http://www.uline.com/BL_8150/Plastic-Pails-and-Lids 5 white S-9942 (buckets) 5 white S-20541 (lids) 3/8inch grommets from home depot go into 1/2 inch hole in the lid

    Minnesota 3.5 gal fermentation buckets

EDIT: no longer for sale I put together bucket fermenters for 2.5-3 gal batches - I only need 3 and the minimum order on buckets was 5. The buckets have an easy to peel off lid with a hole drilled for an airlock (with grommet). The buckets are the same diameter as standard 5-6gal buckets...

Recipies on Pebble Watch - Checklists in Evernote

I brewed 2 extract batches at a local brewery for Big Brew Day - and instead of bringing recipie sheets for the boils I input the recipies into Evernote in checklist format. My Pebble used the internet connection through my phone to display the checklists conveniently on my wrist. The watch...

    Dogs

Sorry to hear about Otis - we've only had to say goodbye to 1 dog so far, and it was very tough. Otis and Porkchop can have a beer together now. (yes, he's sitting on Santa's lap)

Calling all math geeks: Force carbonation math!

I poked around for a bit in some scientific journals to try to find some results, because surely with all the drinking scientists do- someone has tested this. :mug: So far, this is the closest I've found. http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/ie50281a014 The comparison of the gaseous CO2...

Calling all math geeks: Force carbonation math!

Because the carbonation involves some chemical reactions, the lasting carbonation will be dependent on the enthalpy of the carbonation reactions and the mole ratios of the balanced reactions - as well as the pH of the beer being carbonated since the reactions will involve H+ ions.

    Show us your Kegerator

I went the route of a 12v PC fan connected with an old cell phone charger. Fan was from an old computer about to be recycled at work and the cell phone charger was from 7-9 years ago.

I noticed immediately after adding the fan that the temp on the thermostat stayed consistent for much longer, reducing the compressor cycles.

    Show us your Kegerator

Recently finished my first keezer build. I have 4 3 gal pin locks from AIH and had been using this 5cf freezer with a temperature controller as a fermentation chamber. Left co2 outside of the freezer to save on space, it's a 20lb tank. 3 perlick faucets on the front- 2 525ss and 1 575ss...
