Ok, so here's the deal:
I've been doing my research, biding my time and I'm FINALLY in a place where I can start this project!!!
This project is precisely what it says on the tin: a project log of my Keezer build. Specifically, my adaptation of Jester's project seen here: Jester's Keezer...
I live 2 blocks from a BevMo and the manager said they get slightly damaged ones all the time. Said I can scoop em up for $40 each but I'm going to try to bring em down.
Hey guys, I think I'm going to switch to a 23 tip jet burner:
23 Tip Round Nozzle Jet Burner
Does anyone have one that could give me exact measurements of diameter, etc. so I can model it in my SketchUp design?
Also trying to get it so that I can store everything below and have nothing...
I'm looking into this right now as well. However I plan on using a jet burner and want to replicate Bobby's setup. You lose the ability to alter the height of the burner but at first, that doesn't seem like a problem to me. I can always rig it another way later. This just seems the most...
Hmmm interesting. I've starting looking into counterflow chillers as they can be priced about the same as a Therminator but aren't as a pain to clean (or so I have read).
I plan on batch sparging so I should be fine with the 1 pump. The housing I've got shown I plan on being able to slide back...
Well this is a little further down the line. But I wanted to design it out so I could then price all the parts I will need. Gives me a better idea of when I WILL be able to start it.
Peter_h: just batch sparging for now. I figure I can always buy another pump to fly sparge if I want to upgrade...
Ok, so originally this started as a thread about materials for a brew sculpture. Considering I've moved on to a more "critique my design" stage I thought it could use a new thread.

This is quickly dissolving into just my random questions about brew sculptures but...
Does anyone see any reason for not making space under one of the burners for my propane tank? That way I can just keep it on the cart and wheel it around together.
---------------EDIT----------------
And if...
Quick tag on question, how far from the bottom of the keggle should the burner be? I intend on making the bracket with a slot so it can be adjustable a-la Blackheart: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f11/automated-herms-system-132119/index21.html
Just looking for a range to put it in...
Thanks DarkBrood for the cold vs hot rolled clarification. I did research and found what the difference was (in terms of how it's made) but that is a good explanation of what it means to me as a brewer.
I'm still up in the air whether or not I want to do the welding myself. I took a metal...
Wow Ztp, that must save you a TON of weight just doing strap. Have you tried it out? I'd just be worried with its strength.
I'm looking at going for something pretty sturdy so maybe 2" or 1.5" square tube.
Has anyone put sheet metal over the tops so that spills don't get down to pumps below?
I've been doing a lot of research lately about fabricating my own 1-tier, 3 keggle system. As I start designing it (in SketchUp) I was wondering what metal people use for their sculptures and what the dimensions of the bars are. I've seen rectangular and square beams and I think I want to go...
