Joseph in Wasilla here. I'm thinking about doing an old recipe from my Grandpa next using Blue Ribbon malt extract. One with cane and the other with corn sugar. Also try the recipe from Blue Ribbon people used to get after ordering their malt for "baking" during prohibition.

My grandpa grew up in rural Alaska. There were a lot of scandinavians, I'm guessing this is where these recipes came from. Here there are as he wrote them.

Okay- ignore my last reply. Someone on here mentioned water tight and airtight... It is water tight and not so much air tight. I did the vinegar and baking soda experament. Gasses escaped when I shook the bottle. Go buy bulk caps!!
I say go for it! I had the same idea just a bit ago. I pushed a used cap on a bottle fille with water. It leaked. I used the capper and... You guessed it- no leak. That's not to say it wouldn't hold the pressure... But give it a try. I just don't feel right about wasting. Let me know if...
