However, I believe it was "Brew Like A Monk" that let us know that they do share the same strain of yeast.
Different temperatures are used & possible different pitching rates as well.
Both of those variables will totally change the flavor of the beer, ergo...not the same beer at...

Hype is very powerful.
It was quite good, & still have one bottle left in my cellar (for a rainy day), but I felt the 8 was a more enjoyable beer.

I realize that Sierra Nevada doesn't make "bad" beers, but I really am not a fan of "Wheats".

I ask because Acetaldehyde is often times the culprit of "green apples".
1) You may be moving the beer too soon. It may need more time to condition. Some yeast produce more of this compound than others.
