    Almost no carbonation.

Damn, VikeMan, you're sacring me away from homebrewing with all this math! I'm trying to ease in again. I used to brew in the 80s and 90s with extract\specialty grain. It was simple, Sanitize, boil add a little table sugar to the bottle and I got decent beer. Over carbonation was more of an...

    Almost no carbonation.

You are right that they are for a 12oz bottle, but I figured I didn't want a stout to be as foamy\carbonated as an IPA so I figured they would be fine for a 16oz bottle of stout. Thanks

Thanks. I'll give it a week. It tastes great as is, but the carbonation would make it better.

    Almost no carbonation.

I brewed my first batch in about 25 years. A simple, dry, stout. I did it from a 1 gallon DME + specialty grain kit. It's been in the bottle (16oz swing tops) for 3 weeks, and it tastes great, but it's almost flat. I used the carbonation drops provided with the kit when I bottled. I think I...

Every batch I make is sour

I just brewed my first batch in years from a DME kit. The instructions in my kit say do not add DME to the boiling kettle. The steam will clump the DME in the bag. The instruction is remove the kettle from the burner and let the boil settle down, mix in the DME then return to the burner to...

    Still no fermentation activity.

I couldn't help myself, so I opened the lid to look. There is a nice krausen on top. I think you guys are correct, I did not rehydrate the yeast and I started the ferment at a too low temperature. It is just took a while to get going and it apparently hasn't built enough pressure to bubble...

    Still no fermentation activity.

I used a Brewmaster Stout kit. The beer is in a white plastic fermenter bucket with a 3 piece airlock. OG was 1060. I pitched dry cali yeast, half the package since it's a 1 gallon batch. All I can see is the airlock, and the air bubble hasn't grown that I can see. To get a gravity reading, I...

    Still no fermentation activity.

I'm brewing my first batch in many years, so I not sure if I have an issue yet. I brewed a 1 gallon batch on Saturday morning, and tucked the fermenter in a corner of the kitchen. The temp in the kitchen is only about 65', so I wrapped a seedling mat around the bucket. As of Monday morning...
