    hops in planter containers

Good evening, I live in a Philly suburb, my hops are in planters outside, big plastic bins, I dug them out of the 20ish inches of snow and put them on my porch. These are very heavy containers, I can bring them inside of the house if I have to, but will they be ok outside? I just planted them...

    temperature and fermantaiton

Thank you all for your help, I can't afford a freezer, but that is my goal. I figure if I can get a small fridge for now, I could ferment one bucket at a time. Thank you everyone again for your responses, it is much appreciated.

    temperature and fermantaiton

So once FG is reached, then it would be safe to assume it is safe to pull out and let age in my 74 degree basement?

    temperature and fermantaiton

Thank you for your response, makes sense. I just wasn't sure at what point, if any, temperature no longer would be a big deal.

    temperature and fermantaiton

I was wondering when is temperature no longer an issue when fermenting. I live in a philly suburb, my basement keeps my beer at about 74 degrees. That being to hot to ferment an IPA, if I where to get a controller and mini fridge, put it in at a controlled temp for a week, then take it out to...

    Dry Hopping

This is all great information, I thank you all for your replies. Aging while carbonated makes allot of sense to me, that is what I was thinking of doing with all of my stouts once I get more kegs, letting them sit at room temp with 20-30 psi on them. I have just been doing allot of reading about...

    Dry Hopping

I was trying to age the beer a little more than I used to, just to try something new. Been doing allot of reading about aging and thought I would try it. I didn't want to move it to a secondary since it was in the primary for 3 weeks. Thank you for your responses. What pressure should I Co2 it...

    Dry Hopping

Good afternoon all, I brewed an IPA on March 22nd and wanted to now dry hop it. It has sat in the primary in my basement for the last 3 weeks at 62 deg. I was going to try and just put two ounces of Cascade leaf hops right in the primary bucket and let it go for 3-5 days and then keg. Any...

    Bottle capper broke

That's great, I am ordering a keg system tomorrow, so I'll just leave it in the bucket until it arrives. I am sure by the time it ships the sugar will be eaten. Thank you for your help.

    Bottle capper broke

So I was wondering if I put it back in the bucket with the airlock and let it ferment out the priming sugar, could I then keg the beer?

    Bottle capper broke

Good evening, I was wondering if I put my batch in the bottling bucket after adding priming sugar, filled 24 bottles so far, on the third I applied the cap to, my capper broke, is there anything I can do. No stores are open. Thanks in advance for any help.
