    Back again (again)

Time will tell. I am taking this as a learning batch as it was my first one on new equipment. I have some maths to do :-)

    Back again (again)

Sorry - I wrote that a bit confusingly. But it did make me look at the OG reading again. ...not sure where I got 15% from. The OG was 1.112, which according to Brewers Friend calculator makes it 13.39%. Close enough :-)

    Back again (again)

Been five years. I am now all grain brewing :-) Bought a 50L Guten on Friday and have already put two brews through it. Loving it! Was using pots and a gas burner, but this is much easier. Brewed a Choc Stout (was meant to be 10%, but somehow ended up at 15% OG - prob to do with only...

Taking the plunge... From kits to all grain...

Might be getting some old beer kegs... I am standing in my cellar just now listening to my stout bubbling. I think it might be my second favorite sound. :D

Taking the plunge... From kits to all grain...

Thanks for the advice. The pot was also going to be for cooking. I have had a rethink though. Beer is going to come first! 40l aluminum pot is the go.

Taking the plunge... From kits to all grain...

I am. I have to drink them all to get the bottles free for my next batch! Just found out that I have some cash available so will be going to buy the pot tomorrow. :tank:

Taking the plunge... From kits to all grain...

I have given myself 12 months to move to all grain. Partial mash on the way of course. Went looking for a 25l pot with a heavy base today. $180 (au) so that will have to wait until payday. Walked into the camping store and came out with this burner. 36000btu so should warm things up...

    Back after a break!

I am back in the saddle again, so to speak. Been a while since I last brewed. I think about 5 years. I stopped because I ran out of time (work / kids), but now the kids have grown up a little (now 9 and 6) it would appear that I have enough time to restart. I have a brewing / running mate...

    Tasmanian - Cascade Pale Ale

Me! Me! I am in Hobart. I drink the Pale Ale every now and again. Not the best beer in the world but nice as a session beer.

    Quit chasing the dragon today.

Good luck with that. I am just about to quit Kingdoms of Camelot on Facebook. I would hate to add up the time spent on that!

    Brewing again in Robbinsville, NJ

I have decided to start brewing again. Just took 40 days off the beer to give my liver a break and now have a new appreciation for good beer :) I am going to start with grain. Been putting it off too long! I will have lots of questions so get ready ;)

That is true. Looks like it turned into a linch mob. I did not see the posts. I have been away from here for a year (kids etc) but I did not expect to see that. Lift your game people.
