    So who's brewing this weekend?

Just pulled out my 64L Brewzilla to fill it with water for tomorrow’s brew: a Czech Pilsner. Saw a huge roach running around inside and decided to cancel tomorrow’s brew day. I’ll do a deep cleaning Sunday and brew next week, I guess. Yuck.

Should I need triple decoction for my Bohemian pilsner?

Thanks for the recipe. I've never brewed a Pilsner, but I was in Prague three weeks ago, and now I have a hankering to try brewing one. I use Beersmith, and I have a few questions after trying to work up the recipe: What's your brewhouse efficiency? I'm getting a significantly higher OG, which...

    Robobrew/Brewzilla Discussion

My sight glass was looking a little shabby (bent, small non-leaking cracks) but I settled the issue once and for all by accidentally smacking it and snapping it in two. Hot wort pumping all over my garage floor and feet, frantic bailing into an old keggle, reinstalling the metal tube - what a...

English Ales - What's your favorite recipe?

I think I'll be there sometime after noon on July 16th. I'll be the 59-year-old guy fresh from his graduation ceremony, but I'll probably ditch the cap and gown. Let's stay in touch and meet for a pint or two, if possible.

    "Inherited" an EdgeStar KC200A kegerator

My sweet 8-corny, 4-tap keezer died a few months ago, so I bought a cheap (not really, with today's prices) garage fridge to replace it, but a neighbor gave me the aforementioned kegerator and I'd like to use it, rather than drill holes in t he new fridge. Some questions: The kegerator seems to...

English Ales - What's your favorite recipe?

I'll be in Seattle next month and I'm looking forward to my traditional visit to Machine House. They never disappoint. The comments mentioned Cloudburst, and it's another favorite of mine. It's only a 5-minute walk from my son's house.

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

I've been running Fermentrack for a few years now, and everything has been working great. I'm still on the non-Docker version, so I'm going to switch over once my current fermentation is complete in a few days. In preparation for the migration, I've been trying to create a backup, but Firefox...

    Robobrew/Brewzilla Discussion

I brewed my third batch on my 65L a few days ago. I averaged 81% mash efficiency on my first two brews, but recirculation and sparging were agonizingly slow - even with rice hulls. I also had a lot of gunk that managed to clog the pump. My grain mill had been set very fine (about .03") because I...

English Ales - What's your favorite recipe?

Yeah, I'm the guy. We picked up another box of mild for my son's bachelor party in August, and it was fantastic. I was there again a few weeks ago, but it was fresh hop season, so we just did the festival and a bunch of IPA breweries. I'll give you a shout the next time I'm heading to Machine...

English Ales - What's your favorite recipe?

Machine House's dark mild is one of my favorite beers, so I'm going to give your recipe a try soon. A couple of questions: What's your finished water profile? I'll be building up RO water because mine is crap from the tap, so it would be nice to have something to shoot for. How long do you...

English Ales - What's your favorite recipe?

I stopped by Central Market in San Antonio to peruse the beer selection, and after adding Tornado Shark (Lone Pint) and Schlenkerla to my cart, I saw a large bottle labeled "Pattinson Porter". For about three seconds I wondered if it could be related to our very own Ron Pattinson (duh), but then...

English Ales - What's your favorite recipe?

Shelton Brothers went out of business; they imported Landlord, as well as many other world-class beers. Their annual beer festival was amazing. EDIT: I did some Googling and found that Lime Ventures appear to have picked up some of the Sheltons' distribution. Their website lists Timothy Taylor...

    Robobrew/Brewzilla Discussion

I like to tell myself that the top screen will help to evenly distribute the recirculation, so I'll try making a handle and see if it's not too much of a pain to remove it for stirring. The manufacture should add a rig similar to the false bottom that could easily be lifted by using the malt...

I'll go back and read through this entire thread, but would you happen to have a part number and supplier? I assume my local Home Depot won't carry it.
