I have an 8 cft Kenmore that had the same issue. Mine had a connector that I was able to just unplug/disconnect. I lost my light function, but everything else works fine. I built a 10" dual hinged collar, and have a Johnson control.

Beninan is correct. I had that exact problem with my Perlick and a chrome shank. I bought a stainless shank and it solved the problem.

I went the same route as you. I built a keezer with the hope of brewing eventually. I went with a four tap sanke system with quick disconnects so I can switch to ball lock when the time comes. I actually got the keezer idea from this website, and also got the bug to brew form here. I am brewing...

Good call on the No Label tour tomorrow. There is also Karbach Brewery, and they do a Friday tour/tasting from 5-7pm, but they are in Houston. They are in the 290/610 area. And.....close to downtown is Saint Arnold's Brewery. They do a tour today from 3-5, and a Saturday tour from 11-3?

The Yard House is about 10 minutes from Katy. It is at I-10 and Beltway 8. There is also a place in Katy called Pub Hub. I have never been, but I remember their website showed a halfway decent beer selection.

I recently built a four tap keezer. I prefer to do things once and do them right even if it cost me a bit more in the beginning. I have weather stripping in mine and would also get some condensation. I added damprid and it helped some, but I would still get about a half cup of water pooled in one corner that I would have to wipe up about once a week. I just added a fan a few days ago, and that seems to have solved that...
