I brewed the BB Red Ale about two months ago and used the White Labs Irish Ale yeast. It turned out OK. A little maltier than my taste. I have friends who love it though.
Thanks guys. I've always used secondary and never had this happen before so I got a little worried. If it's still fermenting then I've leave it in the secondary an extra week.

Went into the basement to check things out and saw this:
I've never seen this before. I looked up close and I didn't see any solids in the "clumps". They're just bubbles in clusters.
FYI. The two carboys are not the same batch. They're both stouts but a week apart. The one in...
Thanks for the help. I think I will send them an email for a 5 gal batch recipe. The worse thing they can say is "no" right. I'll let you know what happens.
Thanks Again

Thanks. I was eying that kit yesterday but I wasn't sure how it would turn out without using lager yeast. I don't think dad is using the fridge in his garage/shop for anything I'll see if I can borrow it.
Looking to start my second batch and about time to start an Oktoberfest!!
Any recommedations for a good kit? Do all Oktoberfests need to be Lagered? This weekend I'm going to make a fermentation cooler (if time will allow and be cooled by ice containers) but since it's been around 90...
The Plot thickens...
Note: I haven't touched it yet.
This morning I saw some action, about one bubble every 5 seconds. I guess the yeast was just a late bloomer. So now what do I do? Throw in the Nottingham yeast or just let her go?
