If it is typical walmart product quality I would not trust it to carry a bottle of beer, let alone a carboy full

A gallon is bigger in Canada. An imperial (non-US) Gallon is used by the rest of the world, a 5 Gallon batch will come out to about 66 beer...likely closer 60ish once bottled.

I was never good at introductions, hard to know what to say. I have been lurking around here for about a week now and planning to have my first brew later this week. I have found myself looking at way too much DIY stuff and think I need to get my brewing going so I can build some fun toys to use...
