    The accepted and safe way, is to add the bleach to the water, stir, then add the vinegar...job done!

    Thanks for the speedy replies guys! @broadbill, the kit I am going to use entails no boiling whatsoever! It comprises of a can of liquid extract which I stand in hot water until I can pour it into the FV.....thats it!:D And I have a gas cooker.....

    Years ago, when I last did a bit of brewing, I used water from a local spring, straight into my FV! No boiling, no nothing, and never had a problem. But now, many years later, I find that there is an almost fanatical focus on sanitizing everything. My question relates to the actual water used...

    Thanks for the welcome guys:) @shetc, My daughter actually lives in Burton-onTrent! Still a brewing hub, brewing museum too, but most of it is owned by Coors now! But still some good ale about.:D
