Better Bottles have a domed bottom (punt?) that traps quite a bit of air when lowered into a water bath. I'll bet you could use a piece of tubing underneath the bottle to vent that air out and it would settle down. I haven't tried it but seems like it might work.
I've done both and prefer the bag since it's easier to clean up and it helps keep all that trub out of the primary. I do poke, prod, and squeeze the bag frequently throughout the boil though. To make sure i'm getting all the hop goodness into the wort.
I wonder if your capper has the 29mm crimp bell instead of the standard 26mm. It seems there is an oversized bell available for use with some European bottles. If that's the case if probably won't crimp the standard size caps. Is the bell threaded at the top where it attaches to the capper...
Have you looked into Geocities? I used it years ago and it was pretty simple to get up and running. It's owned by Yahoo now so I don't know if it has changed much. Might be worth checking out.

For what it's worth, I placed an order immediately after seeing the post and it has shipped. There were two items in my order that were sold out (Montrachet yeast and some Irish moss) and I was advised and was not charged for them. The shipping was charged for the amount that showed on the web...
I agree. Don't pitch it without at least giving it a try.
It may not be as good as it could have been but you might be surprised. I would recommend using fresh yeast though.
Just my 2cents.
Thanks McKBrew and deathweed. Nice to meet you.
Hi Boodlemania. I'm not a member of State of Franklin but have been thinking of attending a meeting too. I'm usually not a 'joiner' but from what I've seen on their website they look like a good group to become involved with.

I'm from Jonesborough, TN which is the oldest town in the state AND home to the International Storytelling...
