Although I have been a part of this website for a few years, I have only been on one time since 2010 (I took a break) and am still fairly new to home brewing having only 11 beers created under my belt in total. I wanted to say hello from Arizona to all of you. My goal is not only to brew beer...
Wanting to brew an all grain but only have a standard stove. Is there any way to do an all grain batch from a stove top without the special stand alone kerosine burners often used?
If not I will wait and do a partial mash
Thanks
Partial Mash Question:
Ok, for my first partial mash in total, I am going to use 5.5lbs of fermentable grains to partial mash.
Question: How much water should I use for the mash water given the amount of grain I have and as far as the temperature I am getting conflicting answers from...
I often brew extract beer but started adding specialty grains to the mix. I have since decresed the amount of LME and DME to my brews and added more specialty grains. The beers have come out great.
My question is can you use regular grains (the type used in all grain) as an added ingredient...
Typically, I never use fruit but my wife asked me to do so on this batch. I wanted to know how much of a 5oz bottle of raspberry extract should I use when adding to my bottling bucket when I mix it with the beer from my fermenter. The guy at the store said its all according to taste. I dont...
I made a mistake when brewing my beer and I forgot to take a reading with my hydrometer. This is unlike me to forget this but none the less, I did. I didnt take one when I bottled my beer either because without both readings I wont get the proper Alcohol percentage.
My question is, is it...
Yea I was gonna say. When I have a batch of beer ready to go It is so damn hard to gently go through. I will pound alot of em if they are good and before I know it, I have lots of bottles laying around
No I have not, the reason for that is for me, I don't like to expose the beer to oxygen unless I am going to bottle it. That may be a good thing for me to try.
Yes, I usually keep it in for 3 weeks but still, not perfect. trying to get everything out if possible. I think I can do it as long as everything is sanitized, I add no oxygen and take my time.
Thanks guys for your advice on sediment from my first post. To clarify my brewing technique which obviously I didn't before, I will say I use a rack and cane as suggested by some of you, I also use the little plastic piece to put on the bottom as some suggested as well. I also do not put the...
I have a question for you guys. I am on my 8th batch of beer and I wanted to try something that I never heard anyone mention nor have read about it.
Ok, so I brewed an American Chocolate Ale a few weeks ago and I want to try and limit the amount of sediment in my beer when transferring from...
So far brewed 7 batches of extract brews but want to make the switch to all grain. Been to youtube, different sites and heard of different ways to brew all grain and different types of equipment you can by or make at your home to do the job. Does anyone have any reccomendations of where I can go...
