    Sanitizing Oak Cubes

Reasonably clean will prob do fine as well. It's been hard for me to get any kind of infection going in secondary after primary has finished. The alcohol already there should be enough to keep baddies at bay. Cheers, Dave

Head not sticking around/or hardly forming

I usually throw 4-8 oz's of carapils/dextrin to keep head reasonable. I also stick to common brewery cleaners(pbw, green oxiclean, etc) and away from any kind of soap/detergent as that seems to kill head retention too. Cheers, Dave

Does this look like the beginning of an infection ?

Smelling is tasting...:p ....at any rate It looks good to me. No need to open it and taste it IMO. I usually just smell the gas coming out of the airlock for a pretty good indicator. Unless you used vodka or something other than water in your airlock. Cheers, Dave

    Hello from Detroit, Michigan

Hello All, Long time lurker, first time poster. Always enjoyed reading from this forum. I have been all-grain 5 gallon batches brewing for about 10 yrs on and off and have recently upgrade my tun to 10G to get into some bigger beers. Hope to be contributing to the collective soon enough...
