    2017 Homebrew Con - Who's going?

I'll be there, and our club will be serving at Club night. My first NHC! The last time it was in MSP, my wife was about to go into labor with our youngest. Not the best time to go off and drink beer for 3 days. ;)

    AHA Surly Wort Rally

Mine read 1.065. I hit it with WY1007. Was going to add coriander and salt, but decided not to. I am also thinking of hitting it with citrus and dry-hopping. A lovely dark red color. Anyone have any insight on how they oaked the wort? What a fun event.

Thanks. It's just a negative image scan of a charcoal drawing I did during an art session with the kids. :) Cheers!

Thanks! I am happy with this year's batch. And bottles! Not sure about corks, I've never done that, but I don't see why not. This wax is a super dark purple. Basically, took all the kids' dark broken crayons and melted them down and added a handful of hot glue sticks to make it extra thick.

Here are a few seasonals. The brown was for a farm dinner I catered beer for, and the other two are my 'holiday' beers.

The Homebrew Review: Barley Crusher Grain Mill

I used this mill for about 5 years, pretty much wore it out. Had a few problems along the way, the rollers skipping was definitely the most annoying. I'd tear the thing down, clean/lube it, get half way through a full hopper, and the rollers would slip. Dump out grain, put a handful in, wait for...

Brew & A: Kevin "BierMuncher" Mattie

The Centennial Blonde was one of my first all-grain beers I made, and really helped me learn the process. Such a great recipe, too. Also, +1 for rice hulls. I use them in every batch.
