American IPA Base Pale Ale Recipe for Single hop Beers

First try with this recipe was a success in April (Talus hops), so I'm brewing it again hopefully next week with Eclipse hops.

    Kveik yeast on eBay

Hi Gusso, I used a few strains from this guy and I know another ebay seller personally (yeasterbunny) and also used his products. I suggest you to take the half of the package and make a starter (my preferance is 700 ml with 1.060 SG) out of it, then cold crash, and dry the slurry in a parchment...

Omega Jovaru experience. Super high attenuation!

Since using kveik yeasts I've tried 7 or 8 strains or so, and Jovaru was the most agressive by far. I always make a starter with the flakes I receive and dry them, so I will have yeast for later batches. Jovaru took exactly 38 minutes to kick off in the starter and finished it till the next...

    Non-Lager Styles with Lutra Kveik

Not Lutra, but a similar neutral strain: I used Skare in a single hop APA and it was the only strain out of the ones I tried which didn't surpress hop aromas. So basically you can use Lutra for anything you would use US-05 in.

2 beers are close... Which to keg?

Transfer the Pliny one, if it's sitting on hops, then you shouldn't wait any longer as your usual routine. The saison can wait.

New post a picture of your pint

I did the exact same recipe but with Talus hops and Skare kveik and also fermented on 33°C (~92°F) and mine is exactly as hazy as yours. You didn't do anything wrong, the high fermentation temperature we use for kveiks helps the proteins form new bonds and stay in suspension,. As the recipe...

American IPA Base Pale Ale Recipe for Single hop Beers

I mean, it's a thread to read experiments about other hops without having to try it, but damn, Talus IS a great one. I'm glad to change it in the last minute, so awesome.

American IPA Base Pale Ale Recipe for Single hop Beers

Damn @Dgallo this recipe is killing it! I freakin' love Skare, 8 days from kettle and already a killer brew! Talus is also an awesome hop, recommend to try it, a daugther of Sabro, it has similar properties but much more discreet. Tropical fruits (mango, papaya), apricot and grapefruit are the...

    Dark English Milds are AMAZING

DRC is awesome for a mild or small porter, I also used it in my dark mild recipe.

What are your impressions about Mandarina aroma/flavorwise?

Has anybody ACTUALLY done a sucessful stout using kveik yeast?

Okay, so I'm seeing that some of you associating orange/citrus aroma with kveik. No problem with that really, just let me clarify a few things: Kveik is a collective term for norwegian farmhouse yeasts, so there will be plenty of them, but the first one which came into the market was Sigmund's...

Am I the only one who enjoys bottling?

Ah, I see your point, fair enough! I'm sure not everyone have to take drastic measures like me, but I also encourageto store every bottles in a cold place.
