    Why doesn’t everyone BIAB?

I've never done it as I enjoy hanging out in the garage and I like my setup. However, I just got back into this after a hiatus after a few years and only got three batches done before it started getting cold outside. This means the hoses get emptied out and put away, and if I do have a day...

    Don't Do That.

Set your mash tun on the counter with the valve facing away from the sink toward the stove when you're filling with hot water to pre-heat... And forget to close the valve. I was wondering why it was taking so damn long to fill up until I felt warm water touch my toes... Don't do that.

Looking to get close to Grand Teton's Lost Continent Double IPA

Wow, this is such great info, thank you so much! A 90 minute boil makes sense, and I've never heard of the Co2 extract, that's interesting. And yeah, I use a Fermonster with a spigot, so I don't secondary and don't really have a way to remove yeast. I hope to get another freezer to cold...

American IPA Dogfish Head 60 Minute Clone (AG) & Extract

This was my second brew back after taking a couple years off. Followed the recipe exactly (though I didn't use the same brand of amber malt), dry hopped for 5 days and kegged it Saturday night. Sat for 36 hours at 30 psi, and I purged the keg this morning and set to serving temp and let it sit...

Looking to get close to Grand Teton's Lost Continent Double IPA

That looks great, actually. I'm thinking I'll brew this next week and I'll probably go with that hop schedule. Thank you for your help!

Looking to get close to Grand Teton's Lost Continent Double IPA

Thanks for the input. Lost Continent doesn't seem to be incredibly popular in general (every summer I wonder if it's the last summer I'll see it), so I'm guessing I won't get a lot of advice about the specific beer, but I'm more looking for advice on making a good double ipa within the...

Looking to get close to Grand Teton's Lost Continent Double IPA

Grand Teton's Lost Continent is legitimately one of my favorite beers, and I'm looking to get close to it, if possible, and if anyone is willing to help, that'd be just great. It's their summer seasonal, so I'm only able to get it for a few months a year, which is why I'd like to get something...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Got this kegged earlier this week, and wanted it ready by Friday. Didn't quite achieve that goal, as it was still way undercarbed, but still gave out some samples over the weekend. Everyone seemed to think it was pretty good, and I pulled a pretty big glass tonight and while it still needs...

    I'm baaaaaaaack

Thank you for the input, honestly. I'm restarting my brewing at a more advanced point (compared to just dumping some DME into water and adding hops and crossing my fingers) where mash ph is something I do need to consider looking at within the next year. Right now, I'm using RO or distilled...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Thanks, I'll give that a shot next time. I didn't end up cranking it up overnight and there's a little carbonation now to where I think it might be good by Friday just sitting at 12 (but probably not). I really don't want to risk having to deal with an overcarbed keg by cranking it up again...

I Just Picked Up A Twelver of Pabst APA

I grabbed a four pack of these, too, and I've gotta say, the beer is better than it could be. It's also worse than it could be, but it's better than I expected. However, I doubt I'll buy this again, as a seven dollar four pack is way too much for anything with "Pabst" on it, and the taste...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Kegged this yesterday and put it on 30psi overnight and dialed down to 12 today and grabbed a sample. Still needs far more carbonation, but it's going to turn out great I think. Maybe I'll crank it up overnight again and see if I can get it carbed by tomorrow. Would love to have this ready by...

Keezer placement - garage or basement?

You mean in terms of the ambient temp? It was in the garage anyway when we were using it as an actual freezer, and our new upright freezer we replaced this with is in the garage too, I'm really not too worried about it. I'm aware that this isn't the best environment for any appliance as...

Keezer placement - garage or basement?

Well, I only have a pretty small utility room in the basement, and it's nowhere near that cold ever, haha. But man, it'd be really nice to keep this thing on my covered deck in the summer. Maybe some day...

Keezer placement - garage or basement?

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00080G0BK/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 Stumbled on this suggestion in another thread and thought this would work well and the cord would be small enough to run under the seal on the keezer lid. Figured I'd just have the fan run all the time, and since this is...
